Ayumi Miyashiro is a talented young sales manager at a pharma company that has been undergoing extreme financial distress. To make matters worse, the organization is a "white-collar sweatshop" with a shockingly exploitative work culture, especially in how it treats its employees. The bullshit-low salary and harsh working conditions should be enough to make anyone run screaming for the hills, but Ayumi lets her mental health take the beating for her. She continues to value her career and take pride in her work, armed with earnestness as her sole weapon as she gives it her all, day after day.

Ayumi has her fair share of other stressful work-related issues, too, mainly due to one culprit—her subordinate, Shuichi Fujiwara.
